I'm a proud veteran and former Anderson City firefighter. For the past 15 years, I've been blessed to be married to my wonderful spouse, and together we’re raising two amazing teenage daughters right here in Anderson County.
I am a local small business owner and an active member of Gospel Light Church. I volunteer on their security detail, helping ensure a safe space for worship and fellowship.
I’m running for County Council because our county deserves better: greater transparency in how your tax dollars are spent, strict financial responsibility to protect hardworking families, and leaders who truly listen to the people instead of special interests. I’ll bring common-sense conservative values to the table— smarter growth, and accountable government that puts Anderson County residents first.
Keeping growth concurrent with infrastructure is essential for sustainable and efficient development. When population, economic activity, or urban expansion outpaces the supporting systems, such as roads, utilities, schools, and public services. Bottlenecks emerge that lead to congestion, higher costs, reduced productivity, declining quality of life, and strained resources. Conversely, aligning infrastructure investments with anticipated growth ensures smooth mobility, reliable services, lower business operating costs, better access to opportunities, and long-term economic multipliers that amplify prosperity without creating avoidable crises. This proactive approach prevents "running the economy off the road" and builds resilient communities capable of thriving.
Alongside thoughtful planning and smart growth principles, we must ensure that infrastructure keeps pace with development so our county communities can thrive without losing what makes them special. When growth outruns roads, utilities, schools, and services, it strains resources and erodes the historic character, rural landscapes, and cultural traditions that define our Upstate towns. By aligning new development with adequate infrastructure and proactive preservation efforts, like our working farms, and cherished gathering places, we safeguard our shared culture and local economies and maintain the strong sense of place that draws families and visitors alike. Responsible, concurrent growth allows us to build a prosperous future while keeping Anderson's authentic culture alive for generations to come.
Listening to the voters and truly hearing their perspectives is the most important responsibility any elected official can have. Too often, politicians arrive in office with their own agendas and stop paying attention to the people they were elected to serve. In our community, that disconnect leads to policies that feel imposed from above rather than built from the ground up. By actively listening to families, small business owners, farmers, teachers, and neighbors across our districts, we gain the real-world understanding needed to make better decisions on issues like smart growth, infrastructure, preserving our culture, and keeping taxes reasonable. When leaders take the time to hear concerns and ideas we create solutions that actually work for the people of Anderson County, not just for special interests.
